Application deadline nearing for $20,000 in TBGA scholarships
Applications for $20,000 in scholarships from the 10th Annual Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) Wildlife Conservation College Scholarship Program, sponsored by Carter’s Country Outdoor Stores and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Texas, are due March 1.
New for the 2010 program is a requirement that all applicants must be agriculture and/or natural resource-related majors. Also, there will be eight scholarships (one per TBGA Region) awarded at $1,500 each, and the overall top scholarship applicant will receive a $3,000 college scholarship.
Langford selected for inaugural Keystone Award
In recognition of his lifetime of service protecting our agricultural heritage and conserving native wildlife, wildlife habitat, and natural lands in Texas, Langford will receive the inaugural Keystone Award at a reception held at Becker Vineyards in Stonewall, Texas, from 5 -7 p.m., Friday, February 26th. The event opens the 7th Farm & Range Forum, which continues with a full-day program in Fredericksburg, Texas, on the 27th. TWA welcomes Hollimon to Conservation Legacy teamThe Texas Wildlife Association is proud to welcome Courtney Hollimon to the She is a San Antonio native and graduated from Tulane University in 2001 with a degree in Environmental Studies and Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. Courtney grew up with “TWA on the coffee table” and is passionate about TWA’s mission. Hollimon’s primary responsibility will be the design and implementation of high-quality adult educational ventures (workshops, field days, symposia, etc.). She will work closely with TWA members and its partners to meet the educational needs of landowners, land managers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Courtney will also assist the Conservation Legacy team with youth and outreach educational programming, as well as working with all TWA members and staff to recruit new TWA members and build regional teams.

TWA Announces Roller as Director of Member RelationsThe Texas Wildlife Association has named Kendra Roller of San Antonio as its first Roller previously served for four years as the 4-H Extension Agent in Loudoun County, Virginia. She was responsible for management of all 4-H clubs, training and supervision of nearly 200 volunteers, and developing numerous educational programs focused on agricultural and natural resource education and life skill development. Roller earned a Master’s of Science from Purdue University in Education and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in Agricultural Development. |
