TWA presents highest awards
TWA recognizes leaders with highest awards
The Texas Wildlife Association presented its three highest award recognitions on June 26 in San Antonio as part of WildLife 2010, the 25th Anniversary celebration of the organization.
Charles M. Davidson of San Antonio received the 2010 TWA Friend of Wildlife Award.
The TWA Friend of Wildlife Award is presented to members of TWA that have made outstanding contributions to the Association and to wildlife habitat conservation. Davidson is a TWA Past President and an immediate Past President of the TWA Foundation, among his other leadership roles.
Dr. Billy Higginbotham of Overton received the 2010
TWA Samuel L. Beasom Conservation Leadership Award. The Sam Beasom Conservation Leader Award is presented to a member of the professional conservation community that has made outstanding contributions to the conservation of Texas wildlife and shares the philosophies of TWA. Higginbotham is a Professor and Wildlife and Fisheries Specialist with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. David Baxter of Austin and to Jim Chesnut of San Antonio received the 2010 TWA
Charly McTee Outdoor Media Award. The Charly McTee Outdoor Media Award is presented to a person in media who has made outstanding contributions in
their field and shares the philosophies of TWA. Baxter is the current Consulting Features Editor of "Texas Wildlife" magazine, and Chesnut is the former Consulting Production Director of "Texas Wildlife" magazine, among other duties with the organization.
