Investigate and compare how plants and animals undergo a series of orderly changes during their life cycles and explore the basic needs and physical characteristics that allow dragonflies to survive through each stage of incomplete metamorphosis.

When it is fully grown, the common green darner is one of the largest dragonflies in Texas. These dragonflies are often seen flying around freshwater ponds, streams, or lakes and resting on plants that grow out of the water. Metamorphosis is the process by which insects grow and change. There are two kinds of metamorphosis, complete and incomplete. All insects that display incomplete metamorphosis have three stages: egg, nymph, adult.
