Explore the characteristics of soil, an important natural resource found all over the world, identify sand, silt, and clay, and discover why soil is so important to wildlife and people.

This program discusses soil, a natural resource found all over the earth. An ecosystem consists of both biotic things, such as plants and animals, and abiotic things, such as rocks, water, air, and sunlight. Soil is formed from the weathering and erosion of rocks. While many things do live in the soil, soil, itself, is abiotic, or non-living. However, soil and other abiotic factors are very important to living things.
